Visualize Your Future
Studies have shown that athletes can significantly improve their performance by spending time every day visualizing themselves performing perfectly. This practice is a significant part of my work with athletes, performers, and clients who want to improve their public speaking. Just by visualizing yourself doing something, you activate the same neurons that fire in your brain when you are doing it in real time, and your brain retains the memory of that "practicing".
For example, if you want to get into the habit of being on time for work, spend some time every day picturing yourself doing all the things you need to do to make that happen: laying out your clothes and getting your lunch packed the night before, putting gas in your car, setting up the coffee pot, setting the alarm clock (and putting it in the hallway), etc. It will start to become effortless.
You can get started by picking a goal and listening to this future rehearsal recording. Once you've learned how to do it, you won't need the recording any longer.
Gradually start to spend time each day visualizing yourself leading your extraordinary, meaningful life.
