Our Unique Methodology

Clarion Place uses a powerful blend of techniques chosen from the areas of Positive Psychology, Mindfulness Meditation, Strategic Intervention Coaching, Yoga, and Eriksonian Hypnosis.

The focus is on facilitating changes you want to make in your life as soon as possible. These changes could range from reducing stress to stopping hot flashes… or simply lifting you out of a rut you’re currently stuck in. 

We help you achieve lasting, dramatic behavioral changes in a short time, often within three-to-six sessions, generally conducted one or two weeks apart. Plus, for one-to-one programs, we include a follow-up session six months later to check in on your progress. Your sessions (or classes) may include work in any or all of the following:
  • Relaxation Training:  you'll learn a variety of easy methods to immediately feel more relaxed and calm, ranging from ancient breathing exercises to the latest cutting-edge techniques coming out of the field of Neuroscience.
  • Eriksonian Hypnosis : Hypnosis helps you harness the resources of your subconscious mind to resolve anxieties, find solutions and achieve goals you deeply desire. Have you ever been so absorbed in an activity that you lost track of time and the outside world? That’s what hypnosis feels like.
  • Mindfulness  Meditation:  The latest research shows that practicing mindfulness meditation can help you cope much better with your daily stress, can significantly improve your physical health, and help you live more joyfully and productively.  Practicing just 10 minutes per day can lead to powerful results. You can practice it in your home or workplace.
  • NeuroLinguistic Programming:  Used in the US since the 1970s, NLP is a toolbox of quick, easy techniques that help you use your brain in better ways. It follows the premise that deep down you already have the information and resources to solve your problems.
  • Yoga:  Yoga is meditation in motion scientifically proven to be physically and mentally therapeutic.  We teach you simple  techniques for any level, whether beginner or advanced.  Private sessions are available, as well as group classes.

Dr. Judith Vilmain
A Providence, RI resident, Judith Vilmain has a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Iowa.  She has served on the faculty at Kent State University and at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.

Gretta Jacobs, RYT ​
A New England native, Gretta Jacobs 
has over 10 years experience teaching yoga, with extensive knowledge in various styles such as Hatha, Vinyasa, Prana Flow, Restorative, and Chair yoga.  She has worked with students aged 8 to 85, and gives both private and group yoga lessons.

Hatha 200hr Certification: Aura Yoga, Paul Jerard
Pre & Postnatal 200hr Certification; Classical yoga, UK, Jane Mackarness
Level I Reiki Certification
